From Captive to Captivated
Does it seem like everywhere you look someone is finding love, starting a family, or getting the things that you’ve prayed for and even had prophetic words about?
What feelings come up in your heart when someone else is living out your dreams?— Envy? Jealousy? Discouragement?
If you are feeling those feelings, it is time to face them.
The God kind of hope does not disappoint, but does that feel true to you?
Connect with the Holy Spirit and be honest with Him.
”Holy Spirit, I have a dream to see _________ happen. What are your dreams for me?”
God’s dream for you is so much better than anything you have ever thought of or imagined for yourself. Take a look at this scripture:
“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.”
Ephesians 3:20-21 NASB2020
The truth is that God's kind of hope does not disappoint.
Does that feel true to you?
If you answered no, ask the Lord what lie you are believing. Once you’ve heard what the lie is, renounce the lie and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal His truth to you. Exchange the lies for God’s truth and start renewing your mind to this truth! When thoughts come that are contradictory to His truth about you, find scripture and declare the truth of what He has declared over you.
Are you believing the lie that you are not qualified to do what God has called you to do?
Renounce that lie and renew your mind to this truth:
“For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.”
1 Corinthians 1:26-29 ESV
You are chosen and you are enough. Does that feel true?
It is time to dream with God again and in doing so, get specific. Don’t limit Him to the automatic confessions that seem like the correct thing. God desires your heart. He wants to draw you in and love you into your promise.
It’s time to dig deeper into His heart toward you. His thoughts toward you are good and not evil. You are always on His mind.
Take a look at the scripture below:
“Then you will be empowered to discover what every holy one experiences—the great magnitude of the astonishing love of Christ in all its dimensions. How deeply intimate and far-reaching is his love! How enduring and inclusive it is! Endless love beyond measurement that transcends our understanding—this extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God! Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.”
Ephesians 3:18-20 TPT
Isn’t that encouraging?— God’s extravagant love pours into you until you are overflowing with the fullness of Him and He achieves infinitely more than your most unbelievable dream.
Can you feel hope rising as you access the heart of God through that scripture?
Be encouraged to renew your mind to the Word of God and the prophecies He has spoken over you (1 Timothy 1:18 NASB2020) because that paves a highway to the promises of God.
