What You’ll Come Away With:

Have you heard the idea that “insanity means doing the same thing over and over but hoping for different results?” I believe this cause-and-effect principle is at work everywhere around us! I’ll help you get a new perspective on your situation, so that you can break free of old (damaging) patterns and obtain better outcomes in your life - like greater peace, internal rest, better connections with God & others, and a sense of forward movement.

Biography:

I have over ten years experience in occupational ministry, in which time I served on staff of three churches in the capacities of College and Career Pastor, Young Couples Pastor, and Senior Associate. I also have close to 30 years of experience in the construction industry where I served on the management team of two residential development companies, and for ten years ran my own construction company.

I have over 1500 hours of coaching experience and spent hundreds of hours as a trainer in coaching. In addition to my own coaching business, Master Builder Coaching, I serve as Director of Kingdom Coaching Institute - a coach training ministry associated with Bethel Church. My passion is to help individuals hurdle the obstacles that rob them of the joy and passion of a life lived with purpose and a sense of destiny. I love coming alongside others to encourage and assist them toward discovering and developing their unique potential and mission in life.

I’m passionate about coaching due to my own story of pain and transformation. In 1989, my wife of 17 years left and filed for divorce. At the time we were one year into planting a new church for the Assemblies of God in Granite Bay, CA. We had two children, a daughter age 15 and son age 12, which in all practical and emotional ways, she left as well. The pain of abandonment and betrayal was deeper than anything I had experienced. In the midst of that experience I prayed a simple prayer that made all the difference for me. I asked God, "If there is a way you can use this pain for your glory in my life, that is what I want you to do. I do not want this pain to be wasted." Through this experience God did some deep heart transformation, part of which was dislodging a proud ministry mindset in me. This was a life-shaping event that began a change in my perspective, the orientation of my calling, and my understanding of what God is ultimately after in our lives.

I currently live in Redding, California with my wife, Luanne. I’m the proud dad of three sons and one daughter, and I’m Papa Dave to 8 grandchildren. In my spare time I enjoy working around my ten acres, walking and hiking, golfing, building things, reading good books, writing, good conversations with friends, and just hanging out with my family. One of my yet-to-be realized dreams is to own an Indian motorcycle and go on some really cool road trips.
