From Loner to Lover

Have you ever been in a room full of people and felt rejected and alone? Are thoughts of isolation and unworthiness keeping you from developing long-lasting friendships? What if you’re not alone and the thoughts that you’ve been thinking are not your own?

Whenever you protect a bad thought, that thought becomes a fortress in your life. Speculation and distrust can become negative fortresses in your life causing you to think negatively about yourself and the people around you.  Has a fortress of isolation been erected around your heart? There is freedom for you.

Your core values determine how you see your world while your high values are the things that you value the most. An example of that would be that you value truth that says “I am never alone. The God of angel armies will not leave me or forsake me.” But in your reality, you are living from a core lie that is saying “I am a loner. These people don’t want me here and I don’t need them in my life anyway.” When our core and high values don’t align, there is probably a stronghold. A stronghold is a fortress that is built from a mindset to protect you. A mindset is created when you have repeatedly agreed with a series of thoughts. A fortified mindset can help you or hurt you depending upon what that mindset is based upon. If the mindset is based upon a lie, you are empowering the liar and you will sabotage your relationships. If the mindset is based upon God’s truth, you are empowering the Lord and heavenly realities will manifest into your relationships.

'Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.'

Colossians 3:2 (ESV)

When we set our minds on the things that are above and visualize ourselves hidden in Christ, we are able to separate ourselves from our current situation and the overwhelm of strong feelings.

El Shaddai is a name of God that means “Almighty”. This name conveys the nurturing and protective nature of God. God is pure and undefiled love and He is without sin. There is good news - God cannot sin against you. He is with you and He is for you.

'When you abide under the shadow of Shaddai, you are hidden in the strength of God Most High. He’s the hope that holds me and the stronghold to shelter me, the only God for me, and my great confidence.'

Psalms 91:1-2 (TPT)

Becoming aware of God’s presence is key to overcoming loneliness and isolation. What you focus on expands. Focusing on Jesus and being aware of His good nature and character will keep you anchored and secure in situations where you may be tempted to partner with a spirit of isolation.

Activation #1:

To tear down an unhealthy stronghold of isolation, we must recognize the lies that we are believing and replace them with God’s truth. This starts with a vulnerable conversation between you and God. Once the unhealthy fortresses are torn down, invite the Prince of Peace, Jesus, to come in and guard your mind. Are you ready to experience the love and friendship of Jesus? Here are some simple prayers to lead you into an encounter with Jesus to discern and displace the lies you are believing.

  1. “Holy Spirit, would you reveal to me any ungodly atmospheres I am giving off?”

  2. “Holy Spirit, what mindsets am I believing that manifest in this atmosphere?”

  3. “Show me the lies, Holy Spirit, I am believing that make up this mindset.”

  4. “Who do I need to forgive for first teaching me these lies?”

  5. “What truth do You want to give me to replace these lies with?”

  6. “Thank You, Holy Spirit, for healing my heart.  I plant Your truths deep inside my heart so I can begin to transmit healthy atmospheres.”

The excerpt above is from the book “Shifting Atmospheres - Discerning and Displacing The Spiritual Forces Around You”  by Dawna De Silva.

Activation #2:

Are you attempting to escape your feelings of loneliness by overloading your schedule, even to the extent of including unhealthy or toxic individuals? You can be fully aware of God’s presence and be fully at peace in every situation.

If you are experiencing a lot of distraction as you get still with God, talk to Him about the things that are popping up in your mind. Include God in all of your thoughts.

Practicing gratitude in your relationship with God and in your relationships with people is a great way to set your mind on Heavenly realities.

Healing can be a complex and individual process that takes time and effort. But we believe that God is Healer and Counselor.

Sometimes healing looks like a process of multiple encounters with God followed by a season of rebuilding your identity and gaining new skills to maintain your newfound freedom. Other times, God will deal with your issues in a single moment of encounter.

If you are struggling with overwhelming feelings of loneliness and isolation, come in for a Sozo. No matter what you've experienced or where you're at in your healing journey, our team is here to help you.
